Busy Busy

I really love the 4th of July, I think it is b/c I get the pool and fireworks. Bumble LOVES fireworks and got super active during the shows we watched last weekend. It was really cool.

8 months along! Doctors appointment went great, starting to talk about the whole labor thing. My belly is measuring ahead so we will do one more sonogram to make sure I am not having a 10lb-er (dear god please no). But both mine and Bumble's vitals are excellent. I am hoping that Bumble makes an early arrival though, just not too early!

I have also started to notice that Bumble likes to get a little camera shy when people try to feel him/her move. Bumble will go crazy until someone puts their hand on my belly, then it is a crap shoot (to put it politely) if he/she will act up again. Bumble really loves to hear James's voice though. When James and I are having a conversation together, (especially if it has been one of those days where we do not see each other until the evening) Bumble goes nuts when James starts to talk. I had not really picked up on it until this week and I find it so heartwarming. Bumble knows daddy's voice!

We started our childbirth education classes, not quite as weird as I thought they would be. There are some interesting couples though :)

On a very random note I am craving chinese like nobody's business, just found out the place I want to eat at is open today. Oh happy day for Julia!!

Got to celebrate Leyla and Josh's wedding this weekend. I think I am still tired from it, LOL. There was a lot of prep-work involved but totally worth it to see my friend have the time of her life. I even got to practice my mom voice on Saturday when some creepy guy was trying to sell us stuff while we were setting up the reception. I was so proud of myself! My co-workers probably recognize this voice from when I have to talk to crazy, agitated or upset patients on the unit, but it was the first time I picked up on it. I got him to leave though! Posted a couple photos from the rehearsal dinner and reception. SO very happy for Leyla and Josh, two people who are truly meant for each other. Leyla's 3 closest childhood friends came in from Boise, Georgia and Colorado. It was really cool to get to meet and know them over the past couple of days. It was really fun to get to know a lot of Leyla and Josh's family members. James and I reminisced about our wedding quite a bit this weekend. Weddings are just so much fun! Even if I can not wear my cute heels (thank you Kat for saving the day and mom for the beautiful earrings!)

Happy Early 4th of July

It has been a while since our last post, so I figured I would give a quick update.

James celebrated his 1st father's day on the river with his family. I stayed in Dallas and had some R&R. We both figured camping while pregnant might not be the best idea. I did surprise him with his 1st father's day card by hiding it in his bag. The card was super cute classic winnie the pooh!

Bumble and I had another glowing doctors report at our 30week appointment (monday after father's day). I was officially cleared from bedrest. After a frustrating week of filing what seemed to include be a TON paperwork and employee health visits, I was FINALLY cleared through Presby to be allowed to do administrative work. (On a happier side note, I was hired to do prn agency work for another employer. Not leaving my current job but I had been wanting to get a second job that was prn for a few years. Finally did it.) I went back to work Monday morning and boy was this past week has busy, busy (so busy I have not even been able to clean my house!) It was nice to get out of the house, see my friends at work and just be able to do stuff. Still making sure to drink lots of water and keep my feet up. I can no longer wear my engagement ring, which makes my heart sad. I have also gotten to experience some mild swollen ankles (not nearly as bad as my good friend Kim). Not really thrilled about the swelling, but apparently it comes with the pregnancy.

My dear friend Leyla will be getting married next weekend!!!!!! When I was not working this week I was making delicious cake balls for her wedding favors. They turned out so super cute and I totally forgot to take a picture. I promise to take some next weekend. We made red velvet with cream cheese frosting and vanilla with vanilla frosting. Gin-Bin helped a lot. We watched some goodies but oldies movies on Wednesday together while we worked. (Mom, Leyla and Tori helped as well; thank you everyone!!) I even got to see Mr. Jay on friday before we had dinner with the Adcocks.
31 weeks bump
Bumble likes to get very active when I hold Jay

Yesterday we drove out to Tyler to celebrate my Peepa's 90th birthday. Almost my entire family was there. It was so nice to catch up with all my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We had such a blast and even got to swim a little bit. Jay did not really care for the water later in the day. Katy and my dad made a slide show for Peepa of photos from his life. We all teared up a little bit and it was very sweet. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Today James and I are going out for Greek food YUM! We are taking Gin and Kat to the airport and then headed to the pool. Hopefully will get to hang with Madison, Christy and Kim later today, before we head over to Kaboom town.

EXCITED!

So my doctor has officially released me from bedrest, whoray!!!. I could not be more excited. Still no working out and I can only work 1-12hour night-shift per week, but I can sit and teach or do administration work until my hearts content. YEA. I am so super excited. Oh and of course can go the pool as much as I want.

Bumble's heart rate was normal and he/she did not act up either. Everything is going well, minus the fact that Julia needs to be more mindful of the sweet stuff. Weight gain is ok but a little on the upper edge.

Seriously so super excited. I think my maternity UT shirt brought me good-luck today, thank you Marilynn.

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy happy fathers day to all the fathers out there; including my daddy, my peepa and daddy to be James. I have had a very early and productive father's day. Bumble decided to be very active starting at 0640 lasting until I went to the grocery store around 1030. I was able to sleep on and off for a bit but gave up and got out of bed around 0830.

Cooked some homemade pizza and made a surprise for James. Debating on if I will scrap-book today, watching totally depressing history channel thing about JFK. Maybe a nap me thinks.

Well here are some much promised photos from baby shower and other stuff.

And finally.....................................this is how I spent most of last week, in a bikini, at the pool. I think I look very redneck in this photo: trucker hat, preggo and in a bikini!

Sad Weekend for Julia

So for the first time in a while, Julia is missing the annual father's day river trip. Sad day. I have a few things to keep myself busy though. There is a baby shower for an acquaintance this weekend, cleaning the house, and what not. I am sure I could also watch some girly movies. I made some very unhealthy trail mix which I need to stop eating b/c I do not want to upset my doctor with my weight gain on Monday's appointment.

Other than spending Sunday through Thursday at the pool (not all day everyday but a quite a bit.) I have a very nice tan and am quite proud of it. I have been fairly productive I must admit. I finished the cruise scrap-book, am almost caught up on the Bumble pregnancy scrap-book and completed 6 pages of the honeymoon scrap-book. Way to go Julia. What am I going to do if I am allowed to go back to work, what ever will happen to my lovely scrap-booking?!?!

I had a very preggo mind day today. When I walked out of Babies R Us, I realized that I had not shut the door to my car all the way so it was open the entire time I was in the store. Way to go Julia. Then I got all the way home from the store and realized I forgot to buy a key ingredient for recipe I was going to make for dinner. Oh well. I guess some days are better than others.

Exciting News

Bumble and I had an excellent doctors appointment today. As far as Dr. Rinehart is concerned (he is the sonogram guru and has been calling all the bedrest shots since I left the hospital) we do not need to keep coming to see him. He told me to stay on modified bedrest until my OB appointment until next week and let her decide what my restrictions will be for remainder of pregnancy. No back to work full time or 12 hour shifts, but light duty is definite option. He also said laying out in the pool was fine and that I should stay in the water to help with swelling! I love doctors orders like those, pool bedrest sounds fabulous to me. He did not give me a doctors excuse for the jury duty I have been summoned too in a couple of weeks. Oh well I guess you can not win them all. Here are some photos from Bumble's recent photo shoot.

As you can tell baby Bumble likes to keep his/her hands very close to his/her face. I found out today that this is also how James likes to sleep.

Here are a couple of photos from the Houston baby shower as well: I promise to post some more later. (Also need to upload a couple of pics from Leyla's bachelorette party that was this past Saturday!)

CUTE Pooh Bear Cake!

Playing a game where people have to guess how big my bump is, The Great One (aka Grandma McBride won!)

Mom and Sarah talking

My mom has some photos of the future grandmothers and me but she is in Mexico right now. (Rough life I know.) Promise to get them from her soon. Also the Bumble scrap-book is looking super cute right now. Think I will have some lunch and then head off to the pool.

Bumble's Yawn

Still waiting on some photos from the baby shower (so promise to post them soon). Until then here is a clip from last weeks sonogram where Bumble decided to yawn for us.

Makes me wonder if she/he will be doing anything interesting for next weeks sonogram.

Bedrest is starting to get a little trying though. However, I have made a fairly impressive scrap-book of this pregnancy so far, and I am very proud of it.
