Why are Decorative Crib Bumpers so Hard to put on the Crib?

I have been struggling to put on these stupid bumpers so that my crib will look amazing and these things are just ridiculous. I mean seriously! Don't they get that not all cribs are one size fits all? I gave up and will try again later with the help of James.

Congrats to Casey on baby Kyle's birth (I know it has almost been 2 weeks, but so excited to meet her on Thursday!!!)

Have been trying to get some organizing done, babies need a lot of stuff. I of course want everything to have it's perfect place, but who knows if it will actually stay that way. On a side note I totally want some of these. Are they not just the cutest things ever!?

I feel like I have been so busy working, entertaining and putting the nursery together, I think I need a vacation. Not really sure when that will happen. Everything is going great pregnancy-wise, crossing my fingers Bumble decides to come a little bit early, maybe Aug 15th or so. I guess we shall just wait and see. My back is starting to hurt a little bit, mainly due to everything shifting I think. We are almost finished with our prenatal/lamaze classes and the only class we have left is baby CPR.

On another note: I have the best friends and family EVER. Last Saturday my sisters and friends hosted the most amazing baby shower for me, it was absolutely fabulous. (Actually both my baby showers have been amazing, I am one very very lucky preggo chicka!) The best part was my out of town friends coming to Dallas: Brit from DC; Kak, Staci, & Caitlin (with baby Natalie) from Austin! I had so much fun and it was great!

James likes to leave Julia

By going to Mexico for Gera's wedding, hahaha. It is ok though, I forced him to go. You just can not miss one of your best friend's wedding. He seemed to enjoy himself, how can you not with the beach and tropical weather?! He went on a kayaking and snorkeling adventure while down in Cabo too. I have some photos from Gera's wedding and promise to post them later this week. (I am just feeling lazy right now.)

While the boy is away Julia will play. Actually Julia did a lot of work on Thursday and Friday but had a wonderful massage on Saturday. Saw the final Harry Potter, and I have mixed emotions about it. It was not what I was expecting and although it was not terrible I am not sure how much I really liked it. I guess I will just have to go see it again with James and then see how I feel after that. Maybe I was just too hormonal, but (and I do feel like a broken record here) the book was SO much better.

I have been officially released from all work restrictions!!!!! I worked my first 12 hour day shift (have not done one of those for a VERY long time) on Sunday with my agency job. It was actually quite nice and relaxing. It is just like foreign territory for me because EVERYTHING is different. From the charting to the IV pumps, so just takes a little while getting used to it. Worked my first night shift at Presby last night, I have had better shifts I must admit. However it was nice to get back in the swing of things. Started with 3 patients, moved 2 out and then got 2 more in :/ That made it a very busy shift for Julia. It was funny though b/c I kept seeing night shift people (like from lab or central supply or ER) that had not seen me in a very long time and they were like 'holy crap' you are really really pregnant!

I seem to have come to a part in my pregnancy where no matter how hard I try I can not sleep. Thinking I might actually need to get some meds from my doctor at Wednesday's appointment. Bumble has also gotten to the point where he/she does not like it when I am sitting down and lean over for some reason. I tend to get kicked twice as much when I do that, maybe I am taking away too much room who knows. Bumble is doing fabulous though, looking forward to our doctors appointment this week. James likes to giggle at me because now he can see Bumble 'ripple' across my belly when he/she gets super active. James also like to press back on my belly when Bumble starts to act up, which sometimes ends with Julia getting kicked in the ribs (not so much fun for me).

James and I had the upstairs carpet cleaned yesterday, YEA! It makes such a big difference. We also have the laundry hamper and diaper pail ordered. Picked up our final pieces of furniture (the lovely bookshelf) yesterday too. I am so excited to get the room all ready. I just need some strong people to help James while I direct him where to place all the furniture! Also on his honey-do list is to start hanging up picture frames/shelves for me, which we will hopefully knock out this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, I am having a baby shower thrown by some of my close girlfriends and sisters! I am so stinking excited! Plus my best friend Bri is already in the D-town, get to finally see her tonight! Kristy, Caitlin and Staci are all coming in on Friday too!!!! So very very very very excited to get to see all these girls!

Busy Busy

I really love the 4th of July, I think it is b/c I get the pool and fireworks. Bumble LOVES fireworks and got super active during the shows we watched last weekend. It was really cool.

8 months along! Doctors appointment went great, starting to talk about the whole labor thing. My belly is measuring ahead so we will do one more sonogram to make sure I am not having a 10lb-er (dear god please no). But both mine and Bumble's vitals are excellent. I am hoping that Bumble makes an early arrival though, just not too early!

I have also started to notice that Bumble likes to get a little camera shy when people try to feel him/her move. Bumble will go crazy until someone puts their hand on my belly, then it is a crap shoot (to put it politely) if he/she will act up again. Bumble really loves to hear James's voice though. When James and I are having a conversation together, (especially if it has been one of those days where we do not see each other until the evening) Bumble goes nuts when James starts to talk. I had not really picked up on it until this week and I find it so heartwarming. Bumble knows daddy's voice!

We started our childbirth education classes, not quite as weird as I thought they would be. There are some interesting couples though :)

On a very random note I am craving chinese like nobody's business, just found out the place I want to eat at is open today. Oh happy day for Julia!!

Got to celebrate Leyla and Josh's wedding this weekend. I think I am still tired from it, LOL. There was a lot of prep-work involved but totally worth it to see my friend have the time of her life. I even got to practice my mom voice on Saturday when some creepy guy was trying to sell us stuff while we were setting up the reception. I was so proud of myself! My co-workers probably recognize this voice from when I have to talk to crazy, agitated or upset patients on the unit, but it was the first time I picked up on it. I got him to leave though! Posted a couple photos from the rehearsal dinner and reception. SO very happy for Leyla and Josh, two people who are truly meant for each other. Leyla's 3 closest childhood friends came in from Boise, Georgia and Colorado. It was really cool to get to meet and know them over the past couple of days. It was really fun to get to know a lot of Leyla and Josh's family members. James and I reminisced about our wedding quite a bit this weekend. Weddings are just so much fun! Even if I can not wear my cute heels (thank you Kat for saving the day and mom for the beautiful earrings!)

Happy Early 4th of July

It has been a while since our last post, so I figured I would give a quick update.

James celebrated his 1st father's day on the river with his family. I stayed in Dallas and had some R&R. We both figured camping while pregnant might not be the best idea. I did surprise him with his 1st father's day card by hiding it in his bag. The card was super cute classic winnie the pooh!

Bumble and I had another glowing doctors report at our 30week appointment (monday after father's day). I was officially cleared from bedrest. After a frustrating week of filing what seemed to include be a TON paperwork and employee health visits, I was FINALLY cleared through Presby to be allowed to do administrative work. (On a happier side note, I was hired to do prn agency work for another employer. Not leaving my current job but I had been wanting to get a second job that was prn for a few years. Finally did it.) I went back to work Monday morning and boy was this past week has busy, busy (so busy I have not even been able to clean my house!) It was nice to get out of the house, see my friends at work and just be able to do stuff. Still making sure to drink lots of water and keep my feet up. I can no longer wear my engagement ring, which makes my heart sad. I have also gotten to experience some mild swollen ankles (not nearly as bad as my good friend Kim). Not really thrilled about the swelling, but apparently it comes with the pregnancy.

My dear friend Leyla will be getting married next weekend!!!!!! When I was not working this week I was making delicious cake balls for her wedding favors. They turned out so super cute and I totally forgot to take a picture. I promise to take some next weekend. We made red velvet with cream cheese frosting and vanilla with vanilla frosting. Gin-Bin helped a lot. We watched some goodies but oldies movies on Wednesday together while we worked. (Mom, Leyla and Tori helped as well; thank you everyone!!) I even got to see Mr. Jay on friday before we had dinner with the Adcocks.
31 weeks bump
Bumble likes to get very active when I hold Jay

Yesterday we drove out to Tyler to celebrate my Peepa's 90th birthday. Almost my entire family was there. It was so nice to catch up with all my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We had such a blast and even got to swim a little bit. Jay did not really care for the water later in the day. Katy and my dad made a slide show for Peepa of photos from his life. We all teared up a little bit and it was very sweet. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Today James and I are going out for Greek food YUM! We are taking Gin and Kat to the airport and then headed to the pool. Hopefully will get to hang with Madison, Christy and Kim later today, before we head over to Kaboom town.
